Trubanc Anonymous, Digitally-Signed Vault & Trading System

http://trubanc.com/

Trubanc is an anonymous, digitally-signed vault and trading system. Like Loom (https://loom.cc/), it allows anyone to issue assets (digital currencies). Unlike Loom, which relies entirely on (very good) obscurity for security, Trubanc’s digital signatures allow the bank and the customer to prove to each other that they agreed at a particular time on their balances. It does this while allowing destruction of transaction history for closed trades. Trubanc will initially provide server-based trading. Eventually, it will provide digital checks and bearer certificates. These, however, WILL require permanent storage of transaction history.

  1. Thanks, Mark, for the link and the kind words. Whether Trubanc will “take the lead in open source value transfer” remains to be seen. I’ve finished the server enough to aim a client at, so I’ve started working on a web-based client.

Note that I live in the US, so I don’t plan on attempting to run a real Trubanc server. Too much danger from the US government, who don’t take kindly to competition with their fiat currency. It will have to be on a non-US server, likely run by non-US management. Hopefully, there will be multiple Trubanc servers, run by different management, and the market will decide which of them thrive. I’ll be happy to provide coding services.

I WILL however, provide a dummy server, accessible with my web client, which you’ll be able to run from my site (testing only; you don’t really want to trust me with your private keys, do you?) or on your own client machine, using XAMPP or another Apache with PHP configuration. Mark will likely tell you when it goes live, hopefully in a month or two.
