LifeLock CEO Gets Identity Stolen

I hate those Identity Theft crooks that steal your name, credit cards and your money so this is no laughing matter, but you must admit it’s pretty ironic.
You know that guy in the TV ads who drives around with his name and SSN on a billboard trying to show the world his identity protection service is the greatest? Well…his identity was stolen. Ha!
His name is Todd Davis and he is CEO of LifeLock. The AP is reporting that in an Interview Davis admits his commercials have lead to 87 instances where people tried to steal his identity. That includes, “…records of other people applying for or receiving driver’s licenses at least 20 times using Davis’ Social Security number” and one successful $500 payday loan.
The punch line here is that Davis found out about the bad payday loan when the company called him to collect their money!
LifeLock is now being sued by unhappy customers.
It does not matter who you are or what you claim your software can do…putting your name and SSN on a billboard is like getting in a cage with hungry tigers wearing a ‘Roy’ costume.
It may not happen right away…but you are eventually going to get bitten.

Some famous people have almost invited people to try and steal their identity. A famous presenter did that recently and the thief phoned him on air to let him know that he had just donated £500.00 to charity – he just giggled – what else could he have done.
